About Yali

I’m Yali — a New Zealand native living in Nosara, Costa Rica. I am a yoga educator, Kambo practitioner, plant medicine ceremonialist, retreat facilitator, bodywork therapist, and single mama.

For nearly 26 years, I have walked the path of yoga and healing, dedicating my life to practices that support transformation of body, mind, and spirit. What began as a personal journey through yoga has expanded into a calling to hold space for others through yoga classes and trainings, Kambo ceremonies, massage and bodywork, and transformational retreats.

My Approach

At the heart of all my offerings is the belief that healing is not one-dimensional. Whether through movement, medicine, or mindful rest, each modality is a doorway back to balance and connection.

  • Yoga: My classes blend Ashtanga Vinyasa with inquiry-based moving meditations, seamlessly merging tradition with contemporary practice. I offer group classes at Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort, as well as private sessions tailored to each student.

  • Kambo Ceremonies: I facilitate sacred Kambo ceremonies in Nosara, holding safe space for deep cleansing, clarity, and renewal.

  • Massage & Bodywork: My sessions integrate massage with assisted yoga-inspired movement (Pranassage®), supporting relaxation, alignment, and energetic flow.

  • Retreats & Trainings: From immersive retreats to yoga teacher trainings, I guide experiences designed for personal growth, spiritual exploration, and community connection.

Commitment

Across all these practices, my greatest commitment is to help others bridge their practice into daily life — finding healing, freedom, and authentic connection. Whether you join me on the mat, in ceremony, or on retreat, the intention is the same: to support transformation in a safe, grounded, and heart-centered way.

“Yali is a true Yogini on all levels. She is strong in her posture practice but never losses sight that Love is the operative silent partner in all her teaching. She is a woman with a mission and yet always stops to be with you where you are. It is always a pleasure being taught by her.”

- Amba Stapleton, Director & Founder of Nosara Yoga Institute
